mANY MAGAZINES ago !!!! i have collected lots of Canadian Living, Martha Stewart, Good Housekeeping etc thru out the years and since my camera broke down this morning and also i kind of ran out of pink things and what do you know as i went searching, up turned everything! I found a pink Christmas page that just gave me a smile! because of course it is pink!!!!
Christmas just isn't the season without teddy bears. these ones looked so cozy and friendly and happy with their pink collars, that I just had to save them thru out the years. 1991 Bunnies, Bears and Cats.....really not that long ago!!!!!
Another favorite find is a recipe called Cottage Brittle
Butter the sides of the saucepan for candy making to prevent the mixture form climbing the sides of the pan and boiling over----
3/4 cup each broken pecans, walnuts, whole blanced almonds, filberts
1 1/2 cups sugar
1cup of light corn syrup
1/2 cup of margarine
2 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp frozen orange juice cocentrate
Place all of the nuts in a cooie sheet and toast in oven 325 for 15 minutes. set aside. Butter baking sheet. set aside. Butter heavy 3 quart aucepan. In saucepan combine sugar, syrup and margarine cook over medium heat to boiling, stiring constantly with a wooden spoon.
Cook over medium heat without stirring till mixture reaches 290 or softball stage!!!
Remove from heat, remove thermometer, Stir in vanilla and orange juice and warm nuts. Immediately turn out on the cookie sheet, COOL and break and enjoy!!!
Now Pink Saturday just wouldn't be a sabbath without wishing you a Happy Pink Saturday and posting a favorite song of mine on the Celtic --Oceans of Praise --ON THE SIDEBAR
